Charlotte approached VISCO Agency about completing her work placement module in the Summer of 2020. Charlotte was studying for her BA Honours in Media & Marketing at Leeds Trinity University and as part of her course she needed to complete a 6-week block work placement for a company.
Charlotte joined VISCO Agency’s digital team as our Digital Marketing Strategist. Working alongside our clients and her fellow peers, Charlotte assisted in developing a digital marketing strategy to enhance our client’s online performance and drive traffic to their website.
Having done a work placement previously in the office, I was nervous about the prospect of doing a placement remotely. However VISCO Agency provided clear guidance and support to complete tasks and ensured that there was as much collaboration as possible between those working on projects.
It was a good opportunity to explore campaign ideas, as well as create content that could be used in align with them. The VISCO team worked with us to share their skills and expertise to ensure we not only built on existing skills but learned new ones.
I have always had ambition to work within a marketing agency as I enjoy the versatility of the role and the wider range of industries it allows you to work within and for. Since my work placement and graduation I have gone on to join an agency as a Social Media Exec and I think my prior experience within these environments gave me a real advantage when applying for these roles.
I currently focus on organic social but am keen to broaden my knowledge into paid social as well as PPC. Ultimate I want to continue progressing within marketing agencies and continue working within a field I’m genuinely passionate about.
VISCO is a great way to learn more about how agencies operate and the skills need to fulfil briefs. It can also be a great way for aspiring marketers to learn more about what they want to do and get a better understanding of the areas of marketing they are interested in. I love working with Tom as he is a positive and passionate making for a great mentor.
